We run 4 and 6 day Lodge-based trips (no camping!) on Brazil's Green Coast with support boat for carrying bags and tired paddlers. You paddle as much or as little as you want!

Setting out from the picturesque colonial town of Paraty we spend 3 days kayaking the warm waters of Brazil's only tropical fjord, paddling across naturally protected bays and through mangrove forests with stops at islands and beaches.

Highlights of this lodge-based trip include:

- The best beaches on Brazil's Green Coast
- Brazil's only tropical fjord with outstanding views from the 500m Sugarloaf Peak
- Paddling through mangrove teeming with wildlife
- The Caiçara culture of the local fishing communities
- Island hopping in the Bay of Paraty


The exact kayaking route taken will vary depending on local weather conditions. We paddle for approximately 2 to 4 hours per day, with plenty of time for relaxation and other activities like hiking, swimming, snorkelling and observing the local flora and fauna of the Atlantic Rainforest.

This leisurely paddling trip is suitable for beginners and intermediate level paddlers

Price 2013: US$825 per person based on 2 people sharing
Price includes 3 nights accommodation (lodge/inn/guesthouse), daily activities as described, meals (3 breakfasts, 3 evening meals, 3 lunches)


The Brazilian Beach Hopper paddling trip starts on Sundays and Thursdays, and is available all year round.
Tour starts and finishes in Paraty, Brazil, about 4 hours south of Rio de Janeiro by road.

On this exceptional paddling trip we spend 5 days kayaking the warm waters of Brazil. With more paddling days we get to go further along the Green Coast visiting the more remote fishing villages of the Juatinage Peninsular Eco-reserve.

Kayak Boats and Equipment

We use fully equipped fibre-glass sea kayaks (with drop down rudders) made to international standards by Brazil’s leading sea kayak manufacturer, Ygará.
Single and Double kayaks available.
Personal Flotation Devices, Paddles and Dry Bags supplied on all trips.

Bilingual Guides

All groups are led by experienced, English-speaking guides with Wilderness First Aid training (NOLS) who live locally. Guides with American Canoe Associaton (ACA) training in advanced skills and rescue.
For tours with 5 or more people we use 02 guides.
